New Exhibition: Echappée belle by Léopoldine Roux

From October 15th to November the 30th

Starting from October 15th to November the 30th, artist Leopoldine Roux will take over the walls of the InterContinental Bordeaux – Le Grand Hotel for a tailor made and surprising exhibition. The artist graduated from Les Beaux Arts has worked on a selection of historical photos of Gironde’s capital city and the legendary 5-star establishment to transform them with a colorful and modern touch. In addition, old portraits of personalities closely linked to the exhibition site will complete this unique collection, ideal for discovering or rediscovering the history of the legendary hotel from a new perspective. For Leopoldine Roux, “the combination of old black and white lithographs and engravings with bright pop colours creates a kind of a sanctuary both intimate and collective with a touch of nostalgia.” In addition of this “Living Colors”, what the Brussel based artists calls “Promenades”. Paintings on canvas inspired by the colors of spring on which the superposition of colors invites contemplation. A meticulous and vertiginous work with the aim of paying homage to Monet’s Water Lilies.
